Frequently asked questions about features, privacy, and what F0K is — or isn't.
F0K (Friends of Konfidence) is a mobile safety app for friends. It keeps you connected to your trusted circle when you go out, with two distinct modes:
Everything is private, ephemeral, and strictly limited to your circle.
Yes, F0K is 100% free at its base: 5 friends in your circle and 5 NIGHTLIFE polls per week.
The F0K+ subscription (€4.99/month or €29.99/year) unlocks advanced features. See the F0K+ section below.
Yes. F0K is strictly for people 18 and over. Age is verified at sign-up.
F0K is a peer-to-peer safety tool between friends. The F0K SOS alerts your friends — it does not contact law enforcement or emergency services.
No. F0K is not a dating app. NIGHTLIFE mode helps you get a safety signal from your friends about someone you just met — it's a friend-to-friend safety check, not a matching system.
There is no matching algorithm, no public profile, no swipe feature.
The web demo is available directly at friendsofkonfidence.com — no installation required, works in your mobile browser.
Native apps for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) are being reviewed by the stores. The button on the site will automatically redirect you to the available version.
Sharing someone's photo without their consent is a violation of their right to their own image.
A consent screen automatically appears on your phone. The person can accept or decline. If they decline, the photo is not sent.
The person can also withdraw their consent at any time from the voting screen, which immediately deletes the photo for all your friends.
These are safety signals, not judgements:
Your friends can also add a text message to explain their vote.
The alert remains visible to your friends even after the 2 minutes, but without a new vote. The photo disappears automatically after 24h in any case.
You can also use the Boost (F0K+) to re-alert your friends and give them 2 extra minutes.
No. Results are shown to you alone (the sender). Your friends only see their own vote, not each other's.
Yes. All photos go through automatic analysis (AI moderation via OpenAI) before being sent to your friends. Content that violates our rules is blocked at source and never delivered.
This is a deliberate safety decision: if you are in danger and you erase your photo under duress, your friends keep the information and can act. Safety takes priority over discretion.
Complete deletion only happens when every circle member has confirmed you are safe ("Everyone confirmed — photo deleted").
By default, only an approximate location (city or neighbourhood) is shared. Your exact GPS coordinates are never stored on our servers.
You can enable exact location if you want — it's an opt-in choice, visible on the sending screen. The location stays private and limited to your circle.
No, there is no obligation or automatic reminder. Your friends see the alert in the Alerts tab and can confirm whenever they're ready.
If some friends don't confirm, the photo remains visible to them until the 24h auto-deletion — or until everyone has confirmed, whichever comes first.
Yes. You can send a Konfidence without a photo — just the location, time, and optional companions.
Photos are automatically deleted after 24h on our servers, regardless of user action.
For KONFIDENCE mode, the photo may be deleted earlier if all circle members confirm safety before the 24h mark.
No. Photos are only accessible to the circle members you selected when sending.
There is no public sharing, no visible feed, no story. F0K actively discourages screenshots (watermark + in-app message) and technically prohibits redistribution.
No. F0K never sells personal or individual data to third parties. Aggregated anonymous data (usage statistics) contains no identifiers.
Only the friends you manually select for each send. No other user, no third-party algorithm, no ad network has access to the content.
The teams at ABBAQ SAS (F0K's publisher) may technically access data for maintenance and legal compliance, as per the Privacy Policy.

In the Circle tab, tap the member → Remove. The person is not notified.
In the Circle tab, tap the member → Block. The blocked person can no longer send you content and disappears from your feed and circle.
You can unblock from Profile → Blocked users.
The SOS (F0K+ only) sends an instant alert to your entire circle simultaneously.
A countdown of a few seconds appears before sending — you can cancel. Once sent, your friends receive an urgent notification.
You arm a timer before you leave. F0K will ask if you're OK at the deadline.
If you don't respond within the time limit, your circle is automatically alerted. Ideal for solo night journeys.
F0K+ only.
Your friends see your journey steps in real time until you arrive at your destination. You can stop sharing at any time.
F0K+ only.
F0K Guard is an advanced safety level that escalates the alert to a 24/7 monitoring centre: an operator calls you back directly if you can't be reached.
This is the solution when your friend circle isn't enough (e.g. travelling alone, remote area).
F0K+ is the premium subscription that unlocks:
The subscription is managed via the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
An encrypted, private space in the app to keep your own moments beyond the 24h.
Only photos you took yourself can be added to the vault. It doesn't serve to keep received photos (which remain ephemeral).
F0K+ only.
Via OTP email or SMS: you enter your address or number, you receive a verification code, that's it. No password to remember.
An age verification (18+) is requested on first login.
From Profile → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: all your data, photos, and alerts are erased. This action is irreversible.
You can also send a request to privacy@f0k.app.
From Profile → Export my data. You receive an archive of all your personal data (in accordance with GDPR data portability right, art. 20).
From Profile → Anonymous usage statistics: disable the toggle. No analytical data will be sent from that moment on.
Statistics are anonymous and aggregated (no individual identifier). The legal basis is legitimate interest (performance measurement). You can object at any time.
On the results screen of a poll, tap Report. You can also write to abuse@f0k.app.
